What's a successfull fantasy season in WCOFF

I 've been doing this from the start, (Please God no more enemas) and have won two league titles and a third place game, but after every year of not winning the top prize I'm always left feeling dissapointed.  Am I nuts, or do other owners feel the same way.

Side note What are everyone goals for the upcoming season? Being competitive til the end, reaching the championship game, winning the league, or taking it all?

Thanks

i always start the season off by trying my best to win my league.  that really is my goal anything on top of that is great.  lets face it the championship playoffs seem to be who has the hottest team not necessarily the Best.

of course every owner wants to win the $300,000 and have some dorky video on here telling his wife he won and having his friends seem to care less but there can be only one...a little highlander reference there.  yeah i know i am a dork.

Gotta agree with ya Gambler..you're a dork!..Good job with the Highlander, one of my old faves..Anyway..to win your league is a success in my book..the playoffs are a great ride, and I consider being in the running for big money at that point VERY fortunate..There is alot of luck involved, more then the reg season....

On a side note..Saw Clancy Brown in a coffe shop last week..Big dude..And I'm 6' 2"..Usually actors are smaller then you think..Go Kurgen!

Success for me is making the League Championship Game.  At least you get some money back--the playoffs are gravy.

In my 5 years here, I've averaged 7-4; but only made LCG twice and the 3rd place game once.

I mainly agree with MOP.  My target going in is to win my league which means making the LCG.  The LCG game is the stepping stone to the top prizes, and is where you are certain to win some money at least.

Of course, like in real sports, the perception of success can change each season, or even during the season.  For instance, I was ranked #1 overall last year after 10 weeks, but fell to 9th place in week 11 (mostly due to not having Brady, Moss, Romo, or TO on my team).  With one week left, I was guaranteed a place in the LCG, and some "gravy" if I just stayed in the top 5.  Losing out on top 5 money wasn't so bad, but then I lost the LCG even though I still had a 150-160 point week (I still feel the pain of Welker and Fitzgerald that week).  So I came up short on top 5 money, I lost out on LCG money (big difference between $7k and $2.5k).  As many on the board pointed out, and Jesse has stated will be corrected next year, the week 12 "duplication" actually had me starting 20-something in the playoffs (I had held my 9th place through 12 weeks also).  That string of events was a sting.  Luckily, I worked up the chart to finish 13th (thank you to Norv for getting LT on the bench in the second half to let me hold a place in the top 15) to hit some extra money, and did well in the "nothing but gravy" games as well.

After all that, I feel I had a successful season (once I was able to sit with a group of Tibet Monks and meditate for several days).

TDC 2007: 9th Overall through week 11/12, 13th overall ChampBracket, 10th One&Done, 8th Overall Playoffs. OVERALL accomplishments: 2 Regular Season Top 10 overall finishes; 3 Regular Season Top League Points; Still not much to show for it...yet.
